State Rep. Anne Hughes (D-135, Easton, Redding, Weston) spoke at the Rally for Choice in Ridgefield last week, calling on the crowd to organize like never before in response to the assault on women's basic rights and freedoms.
Anne told the crowd,
"Thank you for bringing your collective fury. Fury is what motivated many of us to run for office, to show up at these rallies again and again, to bring our daughters, to get engaged. But fury is not a strategy. We must organize like never before to dismantle the system that has enabled this extremism on the highest court, in Congress, and in states across the country. Roe, Roe, Roe your vote, and don't let up---hold every system accountable for this assault on our rights, our privacy, our health, our safety...all of it!"
